That’s where the positives end though... my brain wasn’t quite sure how to compute the first few sweet yet salty slivers. Is this ramen-y, I thought? Well... there’s a definite note of chicken - a rich chicken stock that’s pleasantly intense. But this is then utterly overpowered by never-ending waves of too-sweet sweetcorn. That’s not the aftertaste you want from ramen. You want rich umami satisfaction. As for any hint of noodle, it was nowhere to be found.
The more I popped the more I wanted to stop, as the corn got more and more sickly with each new crunch. So, I’ll stick to getting my ramen hit in a traditional bowl, not a foil-packed tube.
