Alfredo's - Pepe 4 Stagione

Found in Italy. 4 pepper flavour, you'd think would be pretty peppery - these crisps have a lot to live up to since we have so many great pepper flavours in the uk, but they just don't cut the mustard.

The crisp is really thin, greasy, and a bit soft. Flavour, strangely enough, could be more peppery. It's too subtle. There's a reason you buy a peppery crisp, you really want that fiery hit. But the fire in these crisps is more dying tea light than roaring fire.

Trattoria - Alla Romana Pomodoro e Basilico

Found in Venice, big thick ridged crunchy potato crisps cooked in olive oil.

The flavour here is tomato and basil, referencing the flavour of the Italians' best dish, pizza. Boy have I had a lot of pizza... These crisps do it justice, the sweet tomato and the herby basil, strong in flavour like they've had basil frotted against them for hours on end.

Buonissimo

Found in Venice, Italy.

Pretty plain crisps but done well, a good amount of crunch, a little greasy with a good amount of salt. Quite similar to Pom-bears.

Su Guttiau - Croccante Sfogliqtine DI Grano, Gusto Mediterraneo

Phew that name was a mouthful!

These were found in Italy, incase you hadn't noticed.

Extremely hard and thin wheat crisps, very similar to pitta crisp, so hard and sharp you have to take care when eating them!

Flavouring is pretty dull. Hints of tomato, basil and a load of garlic. Small amount of salt. Not very moreish at all. Not recommended.

Found in Italia.

Tasty ridged potato crisps with good crunch. Not too far off a pack of McCoy's. Good thickness and crunch, good amount of salt and a nice sweet tomato flavouring. Buonissimo!

Found in Udine, Italy.

Flash! Ahhhhhh the saviour of the universe! I'd be pretty disappointed if these crisps came to save me from crisp malnutrition.
Nik naks but not as crunchy. Cheese flavouring pretty sickly and unimaginative. Oh well!

Fiorintini - Olive Oil

Also found in Italy. Still can't completely class these as crisps- but I do like the olive oil flavouring on these, very smooth, not too bitter and and not too oily. If these were on actual crisps they'd be pretty good!

Fiorentini - Pizza

Found in Italy.

I bought these unfortunately thinking they were pop chips... They are in fact snak a jaks. Back home I don't include rice cakes in crisp reviews as I see them as crackers, and never worth a review.

Oh well! Rice cakes are way too airy and non crunchy to be classed as a crisp, I find them pretty sickly, here we have pizza flavouring. A cheesy tomatoey powder covered rice cake. Not so great. They don't deserve the amazing setting of a mountain lake that I'm eating them in front of.

Fonzies - Hot passionĀ

Heyyy! fonziiiiees!

These came from Italia.

Fonzies are large nik-naks.. That probably have a bit less crunch than our native nobbly corn snack.
Flavouring is good, not sure why it's called hot passion, the Italians passion on this occasion is... Not so hot. But a tasty sweet cheesy paprika flavour. They're harmless but tasty.

Groggys - Gusto Paprika Dolce

My first taste of Italy. Found in Trieste.

Light, crunchy puffed potato crisp obviously aimed at a young audience. Crisps are the shape of 'wacky' faces. Good for Halloween coming up soon!
They came with a little packet inside (remember when you used to get pogs inside your crisps? In little blue packs?) it gave me some nostalgia, I won't be attaching these little plastic faces to my shoelaces though...

Flavouring is not really the paprika you hope for. The crisps are orange because of it but the flavour still doesn't come through that strong. What does come through is very smokey, with a little salt, a little sugar. Nothing to write home about. Wait a second...
