Found in Prague airport, when despite having eaten a despicable number of cinnamon rolls during the course of the weekend, I still needed a little somethin-somethin. (I bow down to anyone who can smell an authentic cinnamon roll and not want one).
Have you ever had a celeriac crisp? Did you even know they existed? Me neither. So I was pretty excited at the prospect of trying a new vegetable crisped up for my pleasure.
Only, they weren't very crisp.
As can sometimes happen with those tricksy root vegetables, attempts to create crisps fall a little short and you end up with a slightly soft, soggy snack. Still the taste was of a slightly sweet celeriac, which coupled with a reliably sweet beet and a tangy balsamic, was altogether rather nice. You just couldn't eat too many - that once you pop you just can't stop crunch was simply lacking.
