Ten Acre - The Day Sweet & Sour Became Friends

Next up in the Ten Acre range and it's a flavour that could easily have been associated with a pretty trashy brand... A lovely cheap chinese sweet & sour sauce is definitely not the classiest of images and I wouldn't put it past someone like pot noodle to be championing a flavour like this.

All that said, I do love my sweet and sour balls and I have high hopes for that flavour but imagined it would be so intense and impossible to finish.

I really am so impressed, the flavour is perfect but not greasy and totally moreish. These are pretty darn good. Sure they're sweet - but in a sickly way.

Pringles - Pigs In Blankets

It's beginning to look a lot like... seasonal editions! What a time to be alive!

Yes it's that time of year where crisp companies are fighting for shelf space to be crowned king of the christmas party snack table.

And I have to say that although pigs in blankets have been done before and although pringles more extreme flavours have been pretty sickly - these are pretty darn good. I'm seriously impressed!

Straight away you can tell - they're definitely not going to be veggie friendly.. They're just way too porky!

The flavour has bacon down... smoky, salty and moreish. Exactly what i'd expect from a crisp re-enactment of my favourite part of the christmas meal.

Top dollar.

Kettle Chips - White Stilton & Cranberry Relish (SEASONAL EDITION)

Here we are with another of kettle chips' seasonal additions - of which I am a big fan usually.

They've really nailed it before with some wintery treats. Stilton with a cranberry relish - cheese with sweet bits go down well in my book. WOW it's intense!

It's a full on Stilton, but without the usual blue tang - which is I guess why they specified that it's white Stilton.

The cranberry sharpness hits the tip of your tongue, and there are blueberries in there too, which add a little sweetness. A great snuggly winter warmer, but intense - so this is a share pack for clean palates that don't have anything else going on in there.

Would probably pair well with a full-bodied red wine at a Christmas soirée.

Kettle Chips - Gressingham Duck, Plum Sauce & Spring Onion (CHEFS SIGNATURE)

Next up in Chris 'crisp' Banard's range he's going for something that when on a plate is pretty intense and rich.

Feels like he's pulled it off, but I'm not sure I could have a lot of them. You can certainly taste the game-iness of the duck, the sweet plum sauce is there but isn't too intense, and even the tang of spring onion slips through.

Other flavours? Chives, parsley, ginger, fennel and garlic. They also taste very smokey.

A good winter crisp. He's done a good job with these.

Kettle Chips - Yorkshire Wendleydale & Cox Apple Chutney (CHEFS SIGNATURE)

Next up in the chef signature range, and doesn't it sound delish.

First whiff of the pack smells pretty appley (which is strange). While apple and cheese go really well together, as a crisp flavour...

Pretty disgusting. I gave it a chance, let the flavour settle a bit, after the initial shock - but no.

After a few mouthfuls, I'm still feeling pretty vommy. Can't say much for the cheese - I suppose it's quite creamy.

But the overarching flavour is apple, which simply doesn't belong on a crisp.
The aftertaste is almost floral. Some of them do taste more chutney-ish, and are nearly ok, but then others taste like pure fruit. Doesn't feel like there's any salt. Can't handle more than a few.

Just a 2/10 for these.
