Pringles have sent me my christmas present early this year, and this new sweet-flavoured range will be on the shelf this coming weekend.
It's a pretty radical decision that must of come over from the states that i'm sure will have everyone talking.
The flavours are SWEET CINNAMON and MINT CHOC.
Woah Woah Woah. Settle down now, settle down.
With sweet-flavoured crisps you really have to look at the crisp in a different light.
Close your eyes, take a deep breathe and think un-savoury thoughts.
First up is Sweet Cinnamon, and I really wasn't sure about these, but as soon as I took a bite - I was overcome with a wave of nostalgia, being a kid and eating all of the cinnamon grahams that hadn't hit the milk before I ate my breakfast (why they hell did they ever change their name to curiously cinnamon??! What happened to Graham? Has he been outcast? What he do wrong? This needs to be answered for the good of humanity!) Where was I..
Yes - Cinnamon Grahams - it's basically the same! Which i'm digging. This morning i'm crashing through the pack (once you pop you just can't stop I hear) like i'm 6 years old again saving all the dry grahams from drowning in the white sea of doom.
8/10
Well I have to hand it to them - they have nailed the mint chocolate flavouring to a tee.
Does mint chocolate go with potato? That's something you're going to have to decide. For my crisp palette, it's completely insane.
Completely and utterly odd. The flavour is explosive and confusing. They will definitely have people at your christmas dinner parties entertained and either screaming with delight or disgust.
I am the latter, but they are an excellent novelty. It's good to see crisp companies pushing these kinds of boundaries. It might not be for everyone but it's certainly entertaining.
I'll stick to the Sweet Cinnamon personally. 2/10, novelty value 8/10.
1.Sweet Cimmanon Buttie
2. Mint Choc in Vanilla Ice Cream
3. Sweet Cinnamon & Gaucamole
4. Mint Choc topped over Apple Pie
5. Sweet Cinnamon & Greek Yoghurt
So I guess that's it. We're going to have to accept that Christmas is actually on its way. At least with all the crap weather, we can snuggle up and dig into the excellent selection of crisps that the UK has to offer.
